All it took was a “small” revelation to completely shake up the Dragon Ball universe, which is also celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024. Akira Toriyama reveals in the first episode of the animated series that the characters with pointy ears actually come from the demon realm. This applies to both the Namekians and the Shinjin (the creation gods born on the planet Kaishin) and many other creatures that have populated the adventures of Son Goku and the Z Warriors for four decades.
Dragon Ball experts quickly addressed the issue and examined its implications for a universe that continues to be enriched with new animated series and films. According to scholars of Akira Toriyama’s work, The case of the pointy ears could also have consequences for the Saiyan race. Although they have round ears in their “human” form, they have pointed ears in their “Oozaru” or giant ape form. So this could mean that Saiyans have some connection to demons.
A demonic Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball Daima?
