It's safe to say that Dragon Ball Z: Carcarot is a success-a playable recap of the classic DBZ story has sold 1.5 million copies. The game was released in January.
Bandai Namco disclosed the news in an investor-centric press release on its Japanese website and went on to say that in addition to the 1.5 million copies already sold, the goal is to reach 2 million copies this year.
These numbers keep it in the same position as other successful Dragon Ball titles such as Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ-although Carkarot failed to surpass the record set by FighterZ, which sold 2 million copies in the first week of 2018.
We call Kakarot "a great way to experience classic stories," but he noted that the game is disappointing with pedestrians, tedious area designs, and dirty battles.
Kakarot has season tickets, so the adventure is not over yet-although Bandai Namco hasn't revealed which DLC content the game will release. Fans speculate that "Dragon Ball Super" may be a potential focus for DLC.
Bandai confirmed elsewhere yesterday that Dragon Ball FighterZ will receive a full third season of DLC, which includes free updates to the game system and UI, as well as paid season passes, which will add five new characters throughout the year.
