In early December, Square Enix will release a new installment in the Dragon Quest Monsters spin-off series. Now there is a thick chunk of information about The Dark Prince, which takes on various elements of the monster-collecting adventure.
As is well known, in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince you control the eponymous dark heir to the throne Psaro. He suffers from a curse imposed on him by his father. This makes it simply impossible for him to harm creatures with monster blood. So he has no choice but to tame the beasts so that they can fight for him and he can take revenge on his father. The elf woman Rose and the mysterious Toilen Trubble support him in this.

On the way you are in Nadiria, which should be well known to connoisseurs of the Dragon Quest series. After all, the underworld functioned as a dungeon in Dragon Quest IV, Dragon Quest V, and Dragon Quest X. To keep things from getting too monotonous, Square Enix divided it into various “circles” in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, each with a different theme. For example, there is a colorful candy world as well as a rocky volcano section.
It is interesting that the tameable monsters differ not only by area. The seasons should also have an influence on the world and the beasts. Depending on whether it is winter or summer, the appearance of the surroundings changes and other monsters also appear.
So that you don’t have to be satisfied with the standard versions of the little animals, Square Enix has installed the synthesis mechanism. Thanks to this, you fuse two monsters and create a whole new warrior for your squad.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will be released on December 1, 2023 on Nintendo Switch. In addition to the main game, the developers have already presented some additional content. At launch, The Mole Hole, Coach Joe’s Dungeon Gym, and Treasure Trunks! Progress DLCs are available for download.
