Dragon Quest Treasures has been available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch for about a month. If you haven’t bought it yet because you weren’t sure whether the title was for him or her, you can now safely form your own opinion.
Just in time for the start of the weekend, Square Enix has released a free-to-play demo of Dragon Quest Treasures for the Nintendo Switch. This trial version allows you to experience the beginning of the game. The title follows Erik and Mida from Dragon Quest XI: Soldiers of Fate on their childhood adventure – the quest for the seven legendary dragon stones.
The demo offers the beginning of the game. If you then decide to buy the full version, you can transfer the save data to it and continue right where you left off. If you play through the trial version, you will also receive five Big Buddy Balls as a bonus for the full version adventure.
What’s the title about? As Erik and Mida you embark on an extraordinary journey in the mysterious world of Draconia. The two are joined on their quest for riches by the creatures Purrula and Porcus and a team of friendly monsters. You can use these monsters’ unique abilities to find hidden treasure and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. The siblings must defend themselves against monsters and rivals before they can return to their base to inspect their loot. Collecting treasure increases the vault value, allowing you to expand your home base and further strengthen your brigade of friendly monsters.
Dragon Quest Treasures is exclusive to the Switch. When you purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, you get three monsters as allies on top: Saber-Tooth Cat, Ruby Golem, and Frosty Dragonling—as well as some Prime Buddy Orbs and Mega Healing Bombs.
