Been waiting to see Dragon’s Dogma 2 in pure game form? Then you’ve come to the right place, pawn, because Capcom has finally taken the wraps off its highly anticipated action RPG.

Now for the trailer.

We first heard about Dragon’s Dogma 2 in June 2022, when it was unveiled during the kind of E3 weeks we enjoyed in the summer.

The game didn’t have a release date then, and unfortunately, doesn’t have one now.

If you want to get hyped, here’s a quick breakdown of the game’s story. In poetry form, the same is true.

The story begins in an underground prison

The dragon’s voice echoed in the fog of amnesia.

Rising, Arisen, the best of me,

According to the dogma of this world.

Between the realms of man and beast,

Heroes must fulfill their forgotten destiny.

What dogma does your heart see through your eyes?

This is a story about who will slay the dragon and claim the throne.

lion heart.

“The first entry in the Dragon’s Dogma series originally came out in 2012,” said Cacpom promotional producer Ken Mendoza. “It gained popularity as a one-of-a-kind action role-playing game due to its beautiful movement and combat, as well as a unique system that made players feel as if they were traveling with other people through pawns, mysterious otherworldly creatures. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Follow in its footsteps and take these elements even further to create a truly immersive fantasy world for your future adventures.”

The first Dragon’s Dogma originally came out in 2012, and it’s been a cult hit ever since. Directed by Hideaki Itsuno (you know, the style king behind Devil May Cry), this game is a fusion of genres and inspirations, all on its own. A sequel looks set to follow in its lofty footsteps.

If you’ve never played Dragon’s Dogma – especially in a post-Elden Ring world – now might be a good time.

Watch that trailer again and tell me I was wrong.
