Dragon’s Dogma fans finally have a sequel after years of longing, and to make them even happier, the gameplay has been refreshed Dragon’s Dogma 2 Presented during Capcom Showcase.
The gameplay footage showcases plenty of magic, dragon encounters, swordplay, and other combat and fantasy elements you’d expect from a game.
The clip also includes the game’s director Hideaki Itsumo walking through the reveal trailer before delving into the two traits that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will inherit from the first.
Like Dragon’s Dogma, the sequel will be a single-player game, with Pawns by your side, making it feel like a co-op game. Second, it will once again feature role-playing mechanics in an open-world setting.
In the game, you play as Arisen, who has a main Pawn that is customized to your liking. You can also borrow up to two other auxiliary soldiers from other players. Thanks to the updated AI, the Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are able to make more precise decisions than in the previous game to help you in battle.
Pawns can also help guide you to new locations and even give you a high five after a successful battle.
The world in the sequel is roughly four times the size of the original, and there’s more to experience than the original, with all the characters and monsters in the world having their own lifelike patterns, lives, and movements.
There will be a variety of classes to choose from that will help shape your Arisen character throughout the adventure.
There are also upgrades compared to previous titles. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players can enter situations however they want. In addition to AI, advanced technologies like immersive physics bring Pawns, NPCs, and monsters to life, allowing you to try out scenarios like figuring out what happens when you destroy a bridge or pull a monster’s leg.
The game features two key characters. For example, Ulrika, an archer with deep ties to Arisen, and Nadinia, a high priestess of the Beast race that first appeared in the series. The intricate situations and relationships you’ll encounter in the game are designed to keep you on your toes.
You’ll encounter familiar monsters from the first game, as well as new ones like Medusa.
A release window has yet to be announced, and more information about the game will be announced soon.
