DrDisrespect relies on NFTs and blockchain technology for its upcoming shooter. Not even all his fans are enthusiastic about it.

With his own video game Deadrop DrDisrespect wants to shake up the shooter genre. The popular streamer relies on this, among other things on NFTs and a controversial blockchain systemwhich is causing mixed feelings even in its own community.

However, DrDisrespect does not want to be deterred by the loud criticism. Instead, he continues tout Deadrop and Loot’s NFT model, which is said to be worth up to $100,000. This in turn leads to even more criticism.

DrDisrespects Deadrop

What is Deadrop even supposed to be? With Deadrop, DrDisrespect wants to launch a PvPvE shooter in which 60 to 100 players go into battle at the same time. We should mainly argue about (allegedly) valuable loot, for which Deadrop relies on NFTs and cryptocurrencies – a model that has been or still is the linchpin of heated discussions in recent months.

What is the NFT controversy about? DrDisrespect revealed his shooter in the summer of 2022 – and there was already criticism for Deadrop. Especially considering the subtly confident statement every screenshot of the game would better than any Call of Duty look. But even at this point, Deadrop’s plans to bet on non-fungible tokens did not exactly meet with storms of jubilation and shouts of joy.

NFT discussion reignited

DrDisrespect further adheres to NFTs: Now, DrDisrespect has fueled the discussion again by expressing his excitement over the blockchain model for Deadrop. Specifically, DrDisrespect writes on Twitter:

Just imagine extracting an item you discovered that is worth $100,000 on the blockchain. Just imagine the entertainment value for the audience, but most of all for the player. A new kind of PvP experience awaits us.

By the way, DrDisrespect has clear words and sometimes only insults for the criticism of the NFT concept. For example, the streamer posts on Twitter:

[…] People writing scams or [mit] Ugh [reagieren] are just brain dead headline followers. The same people spend oodles on skins in yearly game releases. For the same skins everyone else has.

Even DrDisrespect fans criticize this: The information is only partially received by his followers. For example, numerous users criticize the high risk of fraud, the damage to the environment and the potential for abuse through money laundering that NFTs entail. Of course, the discussion is not entirely one-sided. In the reactions below the post there are numerous supporters and proponents of NFTs and blockchain technology for deadrop or even in general. Partly by loyal DrDisrespect fans, partly by Developers of their very own NFT games.

By the way, more information about the DrDisrespect shooter should go to March 17, 2023 consequences. So far, there have mainly been individual gameplay snippets from an early version of the game. In general, there are still many unanswered questions about the project.
