Street Fighter 6 has been out for over a week now, and it turns out that the most challenging enemy online isn’t the Honda’s heavy-headed or Brazilian Ken player, but the Drive Impact. For those new to the game or in their late forties, reacting to this new attack can be troublesome.
For those who don’t know, Drive Imapct is a bash attack available to all players that absorbs multiple hits before slamming another fighter. If it hits them during an attack, it stuns them. As you can imagine, this can cause a lot of damage, even worse if you happen to knock them into a corner. Therefore, it is very important to use your own Drive Impact to avoid, throw or fight Drive Impact.
The problem is, this attack tends to come rather quickly! Players can throw Drive Impact at any time, and if you don’t pay attention to it, you need to react within about a second to punish it. It’s fine to block it, but not if you’re in a corner. This is a whole new layer of stress for those who may not be used to reacting to fast-moving attacks. Since Street Fighter 6 has proven so popular, you can be sure that a lot of newbies have been devoured by it.
result? Salt – and lots of it. Numerous posts complaining about Drive Impact are scattered across Twitter, Reddit, and other corners of the internet. Cry Drive Impact for spamming other players Has become the new “don’t throw me bro anymore”, and it’s a whole new battlefield for those who can’t adapt to the new features.
If you’re wondering if something in a fighting game is just a scrub stomper with a real problem, check out diehards of the genre to see if they’re having problems too. Thanks to Japanese gamer and influencer Majin Obama, we could see Drive Impact stealing the souls of the genre’s most loyal fans.
