Not until yesterday Dieter Bohlen’s rejection of the finals of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” made headlines. The pop titan said his appearances at “DSDS” semifinals and finals on the next two Saturdays due to illness.
However, RTL was able to quickly find a short-term replacement for the former Modern Talking member Bohlen: Thomas Gottschalk complements the “DSDS” jury and takes a seat next to Maite Kelly and Mike Singer.
DSDS: These are the winners of the last 15 years
“Deutschland sucht den Superstar” has been running on RTL for more than 15 years. In 2019, the showcase show by pop titan Dieter Bohlen celebrates the premiere of its 16th season. It remains to be seen who will win the title this year. We have put together for you in our gallery which candidates have won at DSDS in the past 15 years.
“RTL asked me and I spontaneously agreed. Firstly, one titan won’t let the other down and secondly, I had nothing better to do,” explained the show master and presenter. Since the winner would be decided by the “DSDS” audience anyway, he couldn’t go wrong, added the former “Wetten, dass ..?” Moderator.
For the 19th edition of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, which is expected for autumn 2021, RTL will completely reassign the jury. And who knows, maybe Thomas Gottschalk can convince the RTL viewers to such an extent that he becomes a permanent jury member for “DSDS” and long-term successor to Dieter Bohlen.
