The Chrysler Building is probably one of the most iconic landmarks in New York City, which was taken from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Marile Morales due to copyright issues.
Players with keen eyes may have noticed that the title of the latest insomnia game-Chrysler Building (Chrysler Building) does have obvious omissions.
The overall structure appeared in the 2018 PS4 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man (and many other Marvel media needs to be guided), and because the new ownership took over the structure, it did not fully become the latest online game. Art Deco landmark in 2019.
James Stevenson, Insomniac’s community director, said in an interview with Game Informer: “When creating urban representation, we want to include as many landmarks as possible to increase immersion.”
“Sometimes negotiations to use these positions are not reached. This is the case with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Chrysler Building.”
Game Informer explained in detail that the Chrysler Building was repurchased to the Austrian company SIGNA Group and the New York real estate development company RFR Holding LLC by the major shareholder Abu Dhabi Investment Committee in March 2019. The cost of this transaction? 150 million US dollars.
Due to the change of ownership, Insomniac’s previous agreement to include the building in the game seems to be invalid, which is why it is missing from Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
However, if you are obsessed with visiting virtual landmarks, don’t worry: you can still find the existence of the Chrysler Building and credit it in the remake of Marvel’s Spider-Man, as well as the original game (20 million units have now been sold).
