The strategy game Dune: Spice Wars was successfully launched in Early Access on Steam some time ago – and now there is a major new update that even brings you a fresh faction.
The 4X real-time strategy game Dune: Spice Wars is growing: A new faction is now romping around on the desert planet of Arrakis: the Imperial House of Corrino; this is now being updated in the Early Access version of the title.
This increases the number of playable factions in Dune: Spice Wars to five, fighting for the precious Spice. Today’s update release marks the second of four announced milestones for the Early Access version on the way to the full version launch. Some smaller updates also bring other small features as well as balancing and quality-of-life improvements.
With House Corrino, Shaddam IV, the Padishah Emperor, brings a mobile royal palace to Dune – including his Sardaukar. His position earns the Emperor a steady stream of taxes and bribes, but he also has to pay the Spacing Guild to keep interstellar travel affordable.
As House Corrino, you influence the other factions by manipulating the Landsraad and CHOAM markets. Should that go wrong, you can unleash the aforementioned ruthless Sardaukar on your opponents. As rulers of a galaxy-wide empire, Imperial advisors are also experienced in intrigue. Princess Irulan and Wensicia Corrino, daughters of Shaddam IV, offer politically savvy and imaginative advice to House Corrino. Captain Aramsham is a Sardaukar officer and expert at commanding the most elite combat force in the universe. Assassin Hasimir Renring is one of the Empire’s deadliest fighters and Shaddam IV’s closest friend.
With the new house, you can turn the other factions against each other, wield your political and military might with cold precision, and keep the spice flowing.
