News tip Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance: our guide to get you started
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has been available on consoles and PC since June 22nd and is the video game adaptation of the classic of the same name. To mark its release, here are some keys to getting started in the Icewind Dale region.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance puts you in the position of four character cl asses and lets you fight hordes of monsters. Your battles in the different dungeons of the game allows you to climb the ranks and gain valuable experience to move forward
Regardless of your level of difficulty and your progress on the Icewind Dale world map, all dungeons have a very similar structure despite their different appearance. Dark Alliance rewards exploration and By searching every nook and cranny of every act of your missions, you can access valuable resources and rewards.
These resources are materials, also called crystals, that are divided into five categories : common, atypical, rare, epic and legendary. These crystals are very easy to find and in each level take the form of red crystals, most of which are embedded in the rock. To get them back, all you have to do is destroy them with one of your attack keys.
Crystals are important in the development of your equipment as they improve its quality. Your gear is divided into 5 categories based on a model identical to that of Crystals, from head to toe, but that has variations depending on the class you choose. In any case, Each item has three levels of improvement that require crystals, but also gold.
Farmer is therefore very important in Dark Alliance and repeating dungeons in solo or co-op mode gives you experience and gold. Gold is the main currency of the game and allows you to improve your equipment, increase your number of maneuvers (attack combinations), but also obtain consumables such as health and endurance potions or elixirs of purification and resistance. You can purchase gold anywhere through the different levels, whether in chests or just gold bags on the floor
One final element to consider as you progress through the dungeons is Checkpoints. These appear at regular intervals, often at the location of a fight that has just been won. You then have to make a choice: Use this point as a resting place that will save your progress and restore your life and stamina, or use it to increase the rarity of the loot obtained from this point.
So the decision is yours to either prioritize safety and saving to make sure the next fight isn’t fatal for you, or consider whether you are at the level sufficient to continue your progression with no save point. Also, keep in mind that saving at a checkpoint will decrease the rarity of your prey if you’ve increased it before..
