Techland has confirmed Dying Light 2 A free PlayStation 5 upgrade will be offered to all PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro owners.
The upcoming game will also support Microsoft’s Smart Delivery service, which means Xbox One players will also be able to freely upgrade their copy of the game to the Xbox Series X/S.
In addition to free upgrades for console players, the studio also confirmed that Dying Light 2 will not offer a cross-platform and cross-gen console co-op experience at launch. Cross-play between Steam and the Epic Games Store will take place after the game is released.
Aside from the prologue, the entire game can be played cooperatively, and guests of all sessions can keep their acquired items and progress. Important choices in the game will be made by all players by voting, but the final choice will be the moderator of the meeting.
At press time, the game has been wishlisted by 3 million people via Steam, and if all wishlisters buy the game by February 4th, the game will become a bestseller between Steam and other platforms.
The game will also be coming to the Switch Cloud when it goes down.
