For weeks the biggest event in the gaming industry, the E3 in Los Angeles, has had to deal with numerous problems. So now has only three months before the fair the creative director also said goodbye. The Iam8Bit team, that should pull the strings in the background at this year's E3, announced their exit via Twitter:
It's with mixed emotions that @ iam8bit has decided to resign as Creative Directors of what was to be an evolutionary # E32020 floor experience. We’ve produced hundreds of gaming + community events and it was a dream to be involved with E3. We wish the organizers the best of luck.

"With mixed feelings, @iam8bit decided to step down as Creative Directors of what should be an evolutionary # E32020 experience. We have produced hundreds of games and community events, and it was a dream to be part of E3. We wish the organizers the best of luck. "
Iam8Bit is actually known for the design of various fan articles such as characters and the organization of numerous events in the gaming industry, such as for the Marvel vs Capcom 3 – Fightclub. The team already has experience with events The reason why they are now moving away from the E3 was not explained by those responsible.
Yesterday, industry insider Jason Schreier from Kotaku assumed that the world's largest game fair is already in danger due to the corona virus that is going around the world.
What is the current status of E3
A lot really comes together this year: With Sony, one of the largest studios at the fair has already canceled – and that in the year in which the Next-gen consoles should appear. The team apparently does not think an E3 appearance makes any sense anyway, because Playstation 5 (which we still haven't seen) should probably be announced at a separate event.
E3 veteran Geoff Keighley, who had been involved in organizing the fair from the very beginning and has presented the E3 Coliseum in recent years, canceled some time ago. The event stagnated too much for him and he wanted to wait until it developed further.
To make matters worse, the world also gets with that Corona virus is confronted with the fact that organizers in particular are busy with such huge trade fairs and have already led to the cancellation of many events, such as the GDC. A medical emergency has already been declared in Los Angeles, which is anything but good for the E3 taking place there.
So now the loss of Iam8Bit, the creative directors of the fair. Can the fair still take place?
E3 2020: yes or no?
With all the factors that are currently directed against E3, it actually seems very unbelievable to say that the fair would take place as we know it. On the other hand, we are only three months ahead of E3, and with all of these problems, it is suspicious that that Event still not officially canceled has been. So the organizers still have an ace up their sleeve?
Probably not. In general, it seems unlikely that the E3 will look the way we are used to this year. However, the idea, the fair, has been around for some time more like a kind of festival with a few announcements. The corona virus in particular could even completely destroy this idea.
So we cannot yet say how or whether the fair will take place this year. We will probably see in the next few days whether the creative director's exit is perhaps the famous curd that will overflow the barrel.
