Is Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin a classic FF?
There have been rumors that Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is an FF spin-off developed by Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. It will be an action game inspired by the latest From Software productions. No wonder, because Team Ninja has already worked on Nioh 1 & 2 after producing the Ninja Gaiden saga. These developers are therefore able to create nervous and satisfying fights. The title will therefore be emotionally based on the skeleton of Nioh.
So expect some quick stabbing fights and executions once the break gauge is full. However, some differences are noteworthy as the protagonist’s mana fills up with each hit and gives access to special attacks. It is also possible to customize your combos to trigger the faculty of your choice at certain stages of a combo. Our hero Jack is accompanied by Ash and Jed who intervene in the fight.
In which universe is this episode set?
Don’t be fooled by its dark, dark fantasy-inspired aesthetic, this episode plays out nicely in a remastered version of the world from the first Final Fantasy. The three heroes try to defeat the chaos in his temple. We also find Garland, the antagonist well known to fans of the license.
Will there be classes?
Yes. There are several classes in the title – Lancer, Gladiator, and Dark Mage in the demo available – and each has their own special attacks. They are unlocked via the battles and progression in a simplified Final Fantasy style skill tree. Unlike Nioh, it is not possible to allocate your XP points to every trait.
Is the game promising?
We invite you to try the demo while it is available. Otherwise, we offer you our preview, which looks back on the qualities and flaws that we noticed during our gaming session.
