last month, EA announced that it will Omega Powerbehind the glorious Tecmo Studio warrior The series, which produced a game titled “The Next Great Hunting Game” through its EA Originals program, apparently hinted that it would be similar to Monster Hunter. The game now has a name – Wild Hearts – and we’ll get our first look at it in its trailer this Wednesday, September 28th at 3pm BST.
“Get ready for an epic adventure in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan,” reads the trailer’s brief description, so you’ll have to wait until it goes live to find out more. The trailer includes some sort of scary-looking dog, presumably one of the beasts you’ll hunt down when the game launches.
When the game was first revealed, Koei Tecmo Executive Vice President Yosuke Hayashi said: “The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and has become a valuable partner in development and release support. Combining EA’s global resources with our own It will help us launch a new hunting game available to players around the world and expand our reach to the global market.”
Hayashi also said that he is “very looking forward to the day when players from all over the world will be able to play the new game”.
Wild Heart isn’t actually Omega Force’s first foray into a Monster Hunter-style game, as the studio is working on the Toukiden series, which does have some similarities to Monster Hunter in every way.
The game’s initial release was a bit of a surprise, as EA Originals are usually dedicated to supporting indie developers, and Koei Tecmo isn’t, though it’s unclear why the publisher decided to make the change.
