EA The first Nintendo Direct-like event was recently held behind The Sims Summit, and an apology was issued after only a “black simmer” was shown.
Last week EA shared some announcements related to its life sim series, including an early look at the next game, currently called Project Rene. The Sims is known for having a sizable and motivated community, and The Sims content creators are actually often invited to do consulting work and are often present at such events.unless the streamer states Ebonixthere is only one black simmer in the presentation.
The official The Sims Twitter account, in turn, quoted Ebonix’s tweet and said in a statement: “Our creators section during The Sims Behind the Summit did not fairly represent our large community of players. Black people. Sims deserve to feel seen in The Sims in everything we do, so we’re responsible for this mistake and will do better.”
Official Twitter hasn’t posted anything since the pledge, nor has it detailed how it plans to be held accountable for such situations.
The Sims Twitter did too reply directly On Ebonix’s original tweet: “Your frustration is right, we let you down. We should thank you and every one of our black creators and players for making sure you bring the Sims Everything is seen and celebrated and the Sims community.”
Many also criticized that it would take days for any official response to the criticism, and some Twitter users expressed confusion over the repeated need for these conversations. In response to a statement provided by The Sims Twitter account, Ebonix points out
