EA DICE is creating a new team to support Ridgeline Games’ single-player campaign battlefield.
Last year, EA announced a new studio, Seattle-based Ridgeline Games, tasked with developing a narrative campaign that takes place in the Battlefield universe.
Led by Halo co-founder Marcus Lehto, the studio is made up of industry veterans from around the globe to tell stories and take players on adventures in the Battlefield universe.
While DICE will continue to focus on the multiplayer aspect, Ridgeline is working on a single-player component, and Ripple Effect is working on a different Battlefield game.
The studios will work together to expand future Battlefield games and experiences that will expand as part of the Battlefield universe.
In this universe, worlds are interconnected with shared characters and narratives.
Rebecka Coutaz, Vice President and General Manager of DICE, said: “Our decision to build our single-player team at DICE is a proactive approach that will give our global team all the benefits early on as we look ahead to the next Battlefield experience.” resources needed.” GI.biz.
“Our three global studios have tremendous strength and opportunity, each br inging their own deep set of franchise experience. Now, we’re able to expand that opportunity and benefit from new talent that will help Ridgeline write its next A chapter franchise.”
“Our vision, combined with their experience with the franchise, will allow us to craft a single-player campaign that engages players in new ways, while staying true to the classic elements that make Battlefield truly unique,” Lehto added.
In 2021, EA announced that Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella would be in charge of future Battlefield series. His new role comes after DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson left the studio.
