An unconventional summer
This year, for obvious reasons that emerge from the current global crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, the E3 2020 celebration will not take place. That is why many companies are opting for their own digital events to replace the traditional presentations of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Electronic Arts is one of the first to concretely announce its own, following in the footsteps of Microsoft, which a few days ago confirmed that this week will show the first time Xbox Series X in operation.
On the other hand, the massive event that will come to replace E3 2020 this year already has its own name: it is Summer Game Fest, a digital act with Geoff Keighley at the helm that will bring together the main firms in the industry throughout the month of August. It will be held on Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, Twitter and Facebook and they will all tell their news 2K, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Digital Extremes, Microsoft, Private Division, Riot Games, Sony, Steam , Square Enix and Warner Bros. Also Electronic Arts itself has confirmed its attendance at this innovative event.
