EA Sports FC 24’s seventh title update has arrived, and chief among its considerable fixes and revisions is a series of changes to the way the game’s passing mechanics behave.

With Team of the Year cards set to begin adding more variety to the potential card packs available in the game, there will no doubt be a lot of players coming back to EA FC now that we’re well into 2024. This latest update isn’t quite enough for EA to bring back its weird red and blue Inhumans, but there’s still some very noteworthy content in it.

As detailed in the full description of Title Update Seven, most of its gameplay changes are designed to alter the way various passes are played in the game – from precise side-foot passes to lobs and through balls. For example, lob passes and their precision variants will now be less accurate when launched at “extreme angles”, but will also allow for an increase in the “maximum potential ball trajectory height” under the same circumstances.

At the same time, the responsiveness of some pinpoint passes has also been improved, while the delightfully named through-passes on the steering wheel will be slightly slower. Some bugs affecting certain types of request passes have also been corrected.

In Ultimate Team, an issue where the objective notification icon became invisible when re-entering the mode and seeing it just randomly linger after you claimed the objective reward has been fixed. When you encounter a just-decided goal, it doesn’t have to tell you when the deadline to complete it is, and hope should become a thing of the past.

There’s also some good news for those who enjoy a good SBC, whose requirements should no longer randomly list substitute players or show duplicate club names. It sounds like it could be a huge blow to fans of United’s two-headed squad.

In other recent EA FC-related news, some players feel that “smaller” leagues like the Eredivisie don’t get enough special card attention in this year’s version of Ultimate Team.
