EA is uneasy about the two main issues related to the “Battlefield” series.
The success of Warzone surprised everyone.Investors want to know whether the game publishers they invest in are also seeking to own their own Warzone, which is a big issue for EA and battlefield.
Last night at EA’s 2021 fiscal year’s full-year earnings conference call, this sentiment was very obvious. The company has been asked many times about the real-time service plan of “Battlefield 6”. Some people are relatively uncomfortable with “Battlefield.” Too clever.
An investor asked a question that everyone wants to know: whether EA is willing to follow the leadership of Activision and release a “Battlefield” game every year, and has a free battle royale mode to connect them together.
Wilson said: “There is currently no announcement of the nature of the game of the annual battlefield and/or upcoming battlefield,” he added, adding that more news will be shared after the trailer is released.
With this in mind, Wilson recommends that everyone’s assumptions about expanding the scope of EA’s franchise are correct. More specifically, Wilson said that EA hopes to build a free gaming experience and mobile experience based on its advanced AAA games.
“In the prepared speech, the other thing you should know is what I want to say, we do have a blueprint, that is how we start with a truly innovative AAA advanced experience and how to build real-time services for the following areas : Long-term participation, and then how do we consider the game model and business model to further expand the influence and penetration rate of the game across platforms, regions, and business models on a global scale,” he explained.
“So, in the next few months, you will receive more information from us.”
One of the bigger rumors about the next battlefield is that EA is developing a free battle royale mode similar to Warzone. Presumably, this is what Criterion is doing, and of course the studio has previously co-developed the forgotten Firestorm Battle Royale mode of “Battlefield 5”.
The next “Battlefield” has been confirmed on the previous generation of consoles. It will be unveiled in June and is more likely to be shared on EA Play in July.
