Baldur’s Gate 3’s seventh super patch has just been released on PC, and it brings enough changes to match the word count of some college essays. However, if you’re hoping to delve into it on console or Mac, you’ll have to wait a while – October to be exact – before you can play it.
If you want a full rundown of what’s included in the patch, now that the full notes are out, where you’ll find all the details on Evil Endings, mod support, improved split-screen, and everything else, you should check out our other post about the patch today Be sure to bring your reading glasses, I’ve kept it relatively brief, but I’m not a miracle worker.

Anyway, now to take a look at what console and Mac users are currently up to in terms of getting the update. As mentioned in the patch notes/community update post, you’ll have to wait until next month.
“Mac and console players, this patch includes many changes and new features – including official modding support for all platforms – so it will take a little longer for this patch to pass all necessary technical checks and requirements and reach you,” Larian explained. “Although later than we originally expected, Patch 7 will be released on consoles and Mac in October, and we’ll keep you updated on our progress!”
So, you see, instead of sitting around doing nothing and adding to the ever-growing library of Astarion fanfiction, you’ve written a few stories about him getting really pissed off because he’s been forced to watch from a distance as other people play some kind of video game on an ancient Sharran computer that’s lethal to elves who enjoy a taste of blood.
In addition, Larian also revealed: “Unfortunately, this means that console players will not be able to load cross-platform saves from Patch 7 on PC, and multiplayer between PC and Mac will not be possible. We are still working hard to bring cross-platform games to Baldur’s Gate 3, and like Patch 7, this requires a lot of work and testing before we are ready to release it to the public.”
Obviously, if you’re looking to start your Patch 7 adventure now and make the jump to console later, the first part about saving is definitely worth keeping in mind.
If you’re looking to keep up with the latest on Baldur’s Gate 3, some of the game’s developers recently talked about breaking their own cinematic camera rules to show you some goblin feet up close, which is undoubtedly what you’re craving.
