For decades we have known Ewoks as the cute teddy bears of the Star Wars universe, as friends of the rebellion, as cuddly droid worshipers who babble merrily and keep saying "Yub Nub". But because of "Yub Nub"! Star Wars: Battlefront 2 now reveals a completely different side of the Ewoks: In truth, the small balls of fur are apparently ice-cold killers.
Because, as the Reddit user Flenoom discovered, Ewoks count exactly how many opponents they have shot down. This is shown in a tiny Easter egg in the game: The little fighters carve their kill count for dead stormtroopers into their arches,

And another observation underscores this new image of the ice-cold Ewok: If we select it in the menu in the character collection, an animation of one of the hairy fighters appears on the screen. He pulls out one of his arrows and inspects it very carefully and then gives him a kiss, (Admittedly, he could blow on him too, but who would do that?)

"I imagine that after the battle for Endor, some Ewoks noticed something about themselves: they enjoy killing Stormtroopers and they are damn good at it. So they took the chance to go out with the rebels and for more opportunities to look to split white helmets and satisfy their stormtrooper lust for blood. "
Whether EA and the responsible story authors of the Star Wars canon actually came up with such a story remains uncertain for the time being.
