He live-action from One Piece, produced by NetflixIt is one of the most anticipated series of the year. Regardless of what the public thinks, it is undoubtedly one of the productions that has been discussed the most in 2023, and there is only one month left to finally see this flesh and blood version of the story created by Eiichiro Oda.
However, many continue to believe that the series is doomed to failure, seeing the history of lousy adaptations that the anime has had, especially with Netflix. However, his own Eiichiro Oda has launched a message to all the fans where you have secured the huge commitment
“After the premiere, I’m sure I’ll get messages from people about whether a certain character is missing or a scene has been skipped or it’s very different from the manga. However, I know all those messages come with a lot of love, so I’ll enjoy them too. (Even after filming was f inished, there were many scenes that had to be reshot at my request.”
Even so, he admits that he changed his mind in some of these scenes that did not seem entirely ideal to him, thanks, above all, to the enormous characterization of Iñaki Godoy like Luffy:
“On the other hand, there was a lot of dialogue that, on paper, didn’t seem to fit Luffy to me, but when I saw it filmed, I was impressed with Iñaki’s performance. There was a lot of work behind it to make many aspects of the series not seem unnatural in live action.”
In addition, the Japanese author comments that Didn’t Give Netflix the Green Light Until June of this same year, moment in which he felt that the series was as he wanted after the changes made in the script and the performances.
“It was in June that we made the decision to go ahead with the series. My editor, who I’ve worked with all this time, was in tears at what a great job we’ve done. I hold this crew and cast in such high regard that I can’t wait for them to get the praise they deserve. And if anyone has a complaint, I’ll be here to listen too.”
Of course, Eiichiro Oda is quite convinced that the series is made by and for the fans from One Piece. Everything produced passed through the hands of the Japanese author before and anything that did not seem entirely correct had to be changed by what Oda himself said. He live-action of One Piece It will arrive exclusively on Netflix on August 31, 2023.
