Without a doubt, Elden Ring was one of the best games of 2022 – if not the best. After all, the From Software factory even dusted off this title in the course of last year’s Game Awards. Now it is known: Elden Ring also broke two records that couldn’t be more contradictory.
Because from the user database of the website HowLongToBeat shows that Elden Ring was played through most often by its users, but was also abandoned. A total of 6,000 of the players active on HowLongToBeat claimed to have sat on the throne of the Between Lands as the new Elden Lord – but 275 never got that far.
That so many players have actually completed Elden Ring is quite impressive. After all, Soulslikes or games from From Software are known for their crisp level of difficulty. Elden Ring has for beginners compared to Dark Souls, Bloodborne or An axe but one decisive advantage: die Open World.
Thanks to this, players can make their own way through the game world right from the start and look for an alternative route if there are any obstacles (such as the fat and nasty bosses). Otherwise, numerous Elden Ring newcomers would probably have bitten their teeth on the Tree Sentinel. You can read about why we (almost) failed in Elden Ring under the following link:

Incidentally, in 2nd and 3rd place are the Most Completed

What else happens at From Software
In December 2022, Elden Ring received its first free DLC with the Colosseum update. That was of course reason enough for us to give the role-playing game a test update. You can read more about the rating Elden Ring ultimately missed in our detailed GameStar test.
In the meantime, it has long been known what FromSoftware’s next coup will be: The mech shooter Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, which nevertheless allows one or the other parallel to games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro or Elden Ring:
Armored Core 6
No Soulsborne – but retains their greatest strength
