We don’t know when Elden Ring will be released, but it seems that it won’t be released soon.
Eldon RingFromSoftware’s next large-scale project is just a dream, and only the studio’s most loyal fans can survive. Since the game was unveiled in 2019, there has not been an official announcement.
Unfortunately, for everyone, this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. Kadokawa Corp., the parent company of developer FromSoftware, has released its profit forecast for the entire fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.
In its forecast for the 2022 fiscal year [PDF] (Through TweakTown), Kadokawa revealed that the revenue of its gaming division is expected to be very low, with net sales falling by about 15% and revenue as high as 52%. Indeed, the company’s overall forecast for the 2022 fiscal year can be considered conservative, as uncertainties surrounding the impact of the coronavirus continue to hang over its department, including game development.
Kadokawa has invested in three game studios including FromSoftware. Although Elden Ring is mentioned in the report, this is only to illustrate the size of the studio’s project and its expectations on a global scale. There are no details about the project itself, but it is fair to say that Eldon Ringer will not be launched before the end of March next year.
A report earlier this year showed that the development of the game was severely affected by the epidemic, indicating that it will not be released this year. With today’s revelation, many people will also be disappointed to learn that it may not be released in the first quarter of next year, although there are many opportunities, of course it is planned to be released in 2022.
After the weekend, the Elden Ring trailer appeared on the Internet within a few seconds. It is not clear whether they originated from the trailer that leaked in March or a new trailer. Nevertheless, we may be approaching the correct display of the game, but we can only hope.
