Fans of the hit title Elden Ring may be able to look forward to a large supply, because a comprehensive DLC is rumored to be on the way!
Not only has Elden Ring sold like hot cakes, From Software’s action title has also scooped more Game of the Year awards than any other game before it. No wonder that the developers are therefore thinking about further content for the game, as game director Hidetaki Miyazaki recently confirmed. If you believe a new report, then there will be at least one really “big” DLC among them.
the Reddit-user ApprehensiveTop8927 is the next in line to underscore the speculation surrounding such add-on content. He posted the link to a screenshot showing a leaked conversation with streamer Lance McDonald. The insider, in turn, claims in this conversation that he is aware of such a big expansion for the action epic.
While no statement has been made as to a possible release date, and McDonald doesn’t know anything about new game mechanics either, he does at least say that the expansion should have a “really big” new area in store. That would align with info from dataminers from an Elden Ring update that provided similar clues. There were also details about the Colosseum update for the game at the time, which should have been confirmed in the meantime. The information from data miners paired with that of the insider is slowly but surely creating a coherent picture of such a large DLC.
Should Elden Ring actually receive a major DLC, the timing remains exciting. Finally, From Software is also working flat out on the completion of Armored Core 6, which is scheduled for release in 2023; this new game is therefore the main focus of From Software.
In the past, Elden Ring has not yet received any major additional paid content, but the game has already been provided with new content via updates. This includes a PvP mode as well as quests for cosmetic items and balancing changes. The title is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
