Elden Ring is considered one of the best games of all time and anyway one of the biggest blockbusters of the still young year. But how successful is the action epic actually? Officially confirmed sales figures now provide information.
From Software is absolutely on the road to success with its top title Elden Ring. This is also underlined by the new annual report from publisher Bandai Namco, which was published last night. There you can now also read that the action spectacle has meanwhile sold more than 13.4 million copies worldwide.
What makes this number so impressive is the fact that these sales figures were only achieved by the end of March, because that is when the last financial year ended. Previously released on February 25th, Elden Ring hit that mark in just over a month.
In mid-March, the company had advertised the successful start of sales in a statement and spoke of 12 million sales at the time; by the end of March, another impressive 1.4 million copies had been added.
Whether Elden Ring will also manage to break Dark Souls’ sales record remains to be seen. In 2020, Bandai Namco reported that this series had now reached 27 million sales; Until then, Elden Ring is still missing something, but admittedly the title has a lot less time under its belt than the almost ten-year Dark Souls series with three main games and a remaster.
How’s the epic going? There is currently speculation about potential additional content, but to date there has been no official announcement from either From Software or Bandai Namco. In view of the sales success, a sequel would certainly be more than conceivable in the long term.
