All the qualities of FromSoftware’s masterpiece have been recognized again. Elden Ring triumphs in its homelands to the detriment of Pokemon, Monster Hunter, or Splatoon.
Nothing stops Elden Ring, not even prestigious franchises. After garnering countless awards and earning Best Game Ever status, FromSoftware’s latest bombshell continues to win favor with the Japanese press.
Elden Ring still chose GOTY in Japan
Since its release Elder Ring broke all records and achieved monumental sales of more than 20 million copies. An absolutely massive number when you consider that the Dark Souls series has sold a total of 27 million copies. This includes the original three episodes and other releases like Dark Souls Remastered. But FromSoftware’s latest gem doesn’t just shine on the charts.
Ceremony after ceremony, tip by tip, Elden Ring comes out very regularly – if not almost always – like the GOTY 2022. At the Game Awards 2022, it was he who was read before God by “Game of the Year” War Ragnarök. A very serious competitor. A few months later, the hype hasn’t died down and the title triumphed at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2022. The awards were presented by the famous Japanese magazine.
Despite fierce competition for the Japanese market, Famitsu has decided: for them, Elden Ring is the best game of 2022. The game started again with this statuette, triumphing over its opponents that were Monster Hunter Rise SunbreakPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Splatoon 3 or Pokemon Legends Arceus.
During his ceremony, Famitsu also ranked Stray as Best Indie Game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 as Roleplaying Game of the Year, and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as their biggest expectation for 2023.
A future mapped out for FromSoftware’s masterpiece
Elden Ring has also broken records with completely unusual challenges. A small game dominated by streamer Missmikkaa who never stopped pushing the limits. After killing bosses with a dance floor, the videographer went even tougher. She finished the last FromSoftware production by launching two parts on two screens with two different devices that have nothing to do with each other. In her hands a DualSense and at her feet the dance floor that she loves so much. A clearly incredible feat that requires extreme coordination and concentration.
A few weeks ago, Bandai Namco finally confirmed the long-awaited announcement: a major Elden Ring DLC is currently in development. The publisher even speaks of an expansion that implies very important content and has dropped its name L’ombre de l’Arbre-monde or Shadow of the Erdtree in English.
Rise up, Shatterless, and let’s walk a new path together. The Elden Ring Shadow of the World Tree expansion is currently in development.

No specific information, but players have already started creating theories based on the above artwork. As for the release, it’s still being kept secret for now. We’re betting the developers will make it by the end of the year, but fans will forgive them for a possible delay if the quality is right.
Elden Ring is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
