It’s been three months since Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree came into our lives. The new expansion of FromSoftware added a ton of content: map, story, enemies and bosses, weapons and skills, progression system and more. And post-launch updates have come with fixes.
Now, FromSoftware has released a new update that balances one of the most hated and criticized features by most players: that some bosses didn’t give you a second to wait after crossing the golden fog that leads to the combat arena. There were several annoying ones, but the worst by far was the final boss of the expansion.
“The action pattern when the battle begins has been changed,” the notes say. Official notes on the FromSoftware blog. This means that we should now have at least a few seconds to get our bearings, look around the combat arena, and locate items such as summoning signs and runes left behind when we die.
The update also includes other requested changes, such as adjustments to the movement and visual effects of some boss attacks, and this includes the range of some non-weapon attacks. These include grabs, ground slams, explosions, and more. Lastly, it includes new weapon swings, abilities, and some PVP-focused ones.
