News JVTech Electric car: China is increasingly asserting itself in Europe with super-powerful chargers and insane ranges
In 2022 we were spoiled with many innovations and novelties in the automotive field. The electric car continues to be democratized and for this new year China could win everything, nothing for Tesla and Co.
NIO and BYD, the spearheads of Chinese electric cars
When we talk about electric cars, we almost immediately think of Tesla. However, The American manufacturer is clearly not the only electric player in the world. Large manufacturers such as BMW, Renault, Fiat, Dacia and even Porsche (the list goes on) have chosen to direct part of their production to better understand the future and the decisions of European and world authorities.
And if Tesla has dominated the market for several years, Big challengers come from Asia and especially from China. BYD is also the first real rival of the Elon Musk company. But in addition to this builder, three other letters are beginning to be spoken of on the old continent, these are the “N”, the “I” and the “O”, which give end to end NEVER. Between great autonomy and overloaded chargers, the company wants to gradually assert itself in the West.
NIO wants to eliminate the weak points of the electric car
The electric car has an obvious weakness: as long as its autonomy does not guarantee 600 or 700 kilometers, the charging network will remain indispensable. But even if a car has a large battery, its user still faces other problems. The car with the longest range at the lowest price is currently the Tesla Model 3 Long Range
But NIO’s strategy isn’t just to deliver a technologically advanced, long-range electric car. The aim is to ensure that the user experience is not spoiled by problems with the charging network
In this sense, So it makes perfect sense for NIO to showcase 500kW electric car chargers. An energy that vehicles powered by 800 volt batteries will need and will allow them to drive 10-80% charge in just 12 minutes. 400 volt vehicles (most models on the market) take 20 minutes to charge the same amount.
This charging station is only equipped with a CCS socket and features a liquid cooling system to reduce cable size, prevent overheating and maintain high output power. The charger is scheduled to be deployed in March and will arrive in our European countries shortly. The Chinese company is also testing battery changing stations. So understand that with its ultra-fast charging or its unique battery swapping system, NIO intends to upgrade its catalog of products and services.
