That was it then so slowly for EA Origin. The ten-year-old app will be retired and replaced by a new EA app.
For ten years, Origin was EA’s platform for downloading and launching your PC games, but Origin’s time is now coming to an end. Like EA in the context of a Blogs
The EA app should be significantly slimmer and faster than Origin, but continue to support necessary features such as downloads or updates in the background. The friends lists have been significantly expanded and allow you to link your EA account to other services such as Steam, Xbox and Playstation, so that you can create an overall friends list – which is of course also practical for crossplay titles.
Origin players will receive an invitation to switch. At that point, all content and your games should be available, as well as any cloud saves. Existing friend lists are also transferred directly to the new EA app, so you basically don’t have to work with them.
For the time being, however, the EA App will only be available to PC players. Origin will continue to run on macOS.
