Can’t get real-life sleep powder? Need someone to hypnotize you? This may not be realistic, but pokemon sleep Can help your insomnia.
The Pokemon Company announced today that pre-registration for Pokemon Sleep, which has been developing its sleep tracking app since 2019, has begun.
Pokemon Sleep turns sleeping into something fun using your smartphone or Pokemon Go Plus+. Hold either device next to your pillow, and the app can track the results of your sleep by showing the Pokémon’s sleeping patterns that appear on the screen.
You’ll then work with Pokemon Sleep researcher Professor Neroli to log your naps in the Sleep Style Dex. The more you sleep, the more Pokémon you meet, Canax grows bigger, and you discover more ways to sleep. Snorlax can also be kept during the day.
The app divides sleep into three types: dozed off, dozed off, and dozed off. Pokémon whose sleep patterns match your sleep type will gather around Snorrax. After you’ve researched the sleep patterns of the gathered Pokémon, you can give them Poke Cookies to make them friendlier, and the Pokémon will become your assistants.
You will also receive a “Sleep Score” based on how much sleep you have had. You get 100 points when you sleep at least 8.5 hours. The longer you sleep, the greater Snorlax’s Sleepy Power will be, determining how many Pokémon you gather each time you wake up.
During the day, the Helper Pokémon will collect berries and give them to Snorax, and can activate skills to support you in raising Snorax. Helper Pokémon can collect berries even when they’re not playing Pokémon Sleep during the day.
Every Monday, you choose a new location to move to and meet a new Snorax there. A new week of sleep research begins, and depending on your region, the Pokémon you will encounter will vary. There may be more Pokémon coming to sleep over the weekend, and there may even be rarer species than usual.
You can also register other players as friends and share with them information such as how long and what type of sleep they sleep, as well as the number of sleep types researched and helping Pokémon in your party. You can also earn rewards for viewing your friends’ sleep studies.
Inside the Pokemon Go Plus + device is a nightcap-wearing Pikachu that you can encounter in Pokemon Sleep when the device is paired with Pokemon Sleep. Typically, players form teams of five based on the Pokémon they meet in Pokémon Sleep, but Pikachu, wearing a nightcap, can serve as a sixth team member.
Additionally, if you connect a Pokemon Go Plus+ device to Pokemon Go and spin PokeStops, the device will keep a record and give you berries when connected to Pokemon Sleep.
If you want to turn sleep into entertainment, pre-register for Pokemon Sleep on Google Play for Android mobile devices.
The app is expected to launch globally sometime this summer.
