THQ Nordic's parent company, Embracer Group, has spent millions of dollars acquiring Saber Interactive, the studio behind The Witcher 3 Switch port and World War Z.
According to a company press release, Embracer Group has acquired US-based Saber Interactive for $ 525 million.
According to the regulatory announcement, the purchase price includes an "initial consideration" of US $ 150 million and a consideration of up to US $ 375 million completed in accordance with the milestones specified in the agreement.
Co-founders and owners of Sabre Interactive, Matthew Karch and Andrey Iones, will also become the second largest shareholders.
The studio recently developed Switch ports for The Witcher 3 and World War Z, which sold more than 3 million units.
Previously developed or co-developed games include TimeShift, Halo: Battle Evolution Anniversary (Xbox 360), Halo: Master Master Collection, Quake Champions, Ghostbusters: Remastered Video Games, Vampyr, and support for Killing Floor 2.
Sabre Interactive will remain an independent developer and currently has about 600 employees.
