“Emily in Paris” is returning to Netflix with two more seasons after its recently launched second season. The streaming service officially ordered seasons 3 and 4 of the RomCom series.
- “Emily in Paris” Season 2 kicked off on Netflix in December 2021.
- After a brief reflection period, the streaming service was satisfied with the number of hits and has now ordered two more seasons.
- In it Emily could even meet Assane Diop from “Lupine”.
“Emily in Paris”, Netflix ‘RomCom in series format, receives not only a 3rd season from the streaming service, but also a 4th season directly. That is a bit surprising, after all, the series fell through with international critics and was criticized for the frequent use of clichés.
However, the figures used by Netflix to justify the extension speak for themselves: “Emily in Paris” jumped to the top of the Netflix Top 10 in 94 countries and 107.6 million hours of season 2 were streamed in the first five days.
It is possible that Netflix and showrunner Darren Star are already planning an end after season 4 behind the scenes, after all, every RomCom needs a happy ending and nothing would be more annoying than if the interest in “Emily in Paris” suddenly waned and the story goes like that remains open due to a dismissal.
However, fans do not have to worry about such thoughts for the time being, the future of the series is assured at least until 2023. Maybe we can even expect a guest appearance from Omar Sy from “Lupine”, because Lily Collins recently spoke of her wish to run into the detective as Emily in Paris.
