Lost Ark continues to struggle with overcrowded servers and hour-long queues over a week after the Headstart release. Today, February 17, 2022, a decisive step should help to reduce this – because Lost Ark not only brings a new patch, but also opens the new EU server region called Western Europe.
Update from February 17, 6:00 p.m.: The new servers are now live
Everything you need to know about the Western Europe servers
When will the new server region Western Europe start?
The new Western Europe region can now be found in the game. in the official forum Lost Ark has meanwhile also announced that the new servers will be available from the February 17 at 6 p.m Europe time – i.e. already now – are available. It is pointed out that a restart may be necessary for the new region and servers to become visible.
How many new servers are there?
Western Europe starts with eight servers. Should the rush also be large here, we reserve the right to open additional servers. These are all new servers:
- Rethramis
- Tortoyk
- Moonkeep
- Stonehearth
- Shadespire
- Tragon
- Petrania

New server region – what does that even mean?
Since Western Europe is an entirely new server region, any progress you may have already made on the Central European servers will not carry over. Much more still: There is also no possibility to play together with other players from this region.
So if you bought a Founder’s Pack or received Twitch Drops and have already redeemed them, you cannot take them with you to the new server region. Region-wide currencies such as Silver and Blue Crystals also remain in Central Europe. Only the real-money currency Royal Crystals should be usable across regions, i.e. also on the new servers.
By the way, Amazon will make a second Founder’s Pack available to all buyers of a Founder’s Pack – you can find out more about this in the following article:

Who is worth playing on the Western Europe servers for?
The new server region is aimed at players who have not yet created a character in the previous region of Central Europe or who have otherwise committed themselves to one of the current servers – for example through friends or a guild.

How can I change the server region when login servers are overcrowded?
If you want to log in at peak times and were last on the Central Europe servers, you may get the annoying error 10027 due to extreme server load.
GameStar reader Kryptator drew our attention to a solution that we are happy to add to the article:
For all those who want to change but cannot change the region because of the overload message:
Go into the path
steamapps\common\Lost Ark\EFGame\Config
And customize the “UserOption.xml” file.
At the bottom of the file you should find the following block
Then replace the CE with the appropriate EU West ID “WE” – of course without the quotation marks.

Are the queues on Asta and Co. getting shorter now?
Many players have already put a lot of time and money into their previous characters in the form of a Founder’s Pack. We therefore consider it unlikely that a significant proportion of these players will switch server regions just to avoid the queues.
So we don’t expect any major changes to the queues for the time being. However, the login servers could relax a little, which regularly spit out error 10027 due to extreme server load at peak times.
As always, we will keep track of how the situation on the servers is developing in our server status ticker:

What is the current status of the servers?
What’s in the new update?
In the course of the morning server maintenance, a small update of around 300 megabytes was released, in which the developers mainly provide bug fixes. We translated the patch notes for you:
- Fixed an issue where Royal Crystal refunds could remain in limbo when using currency exchange.
- Improvements have been made to the in-game shop connection and product inventory.
- Fixed an issue where Procyon’s compass schedule was showing an incorrect time for Adventure Islands.
- Fixed an issue where tinting the Orderbringer skin on a Warrior subclass would cause the skin to not display correctly.
- Fixed an issue where emoticons were displayed as text when two players chatted with different language settings.
- Fixed an issue with DX11 where the UI scale would shift after switching from native resolution to full screen.
- Fixed an issue where players were kicked out of the game when playing in the Central Europe region.
- The foundation has been laid for a new region of servers in Europe called Western Europe. After the maintenance is complete, the region selection tab will appear, but these servers will not be available to players immediately.
