On Reddit, User Reqqu reports that a local retailer temporarily October 16, 2020 was listed as a preorder release date before having to quickly change the date in Holiday 2020. In order not to point his finger at the local shop in public, he does not post screenshots of the offer, but the moderators confirm that evidence images are available. But you should still enjoy the information with caution.

Reqqu already acknowledges it in its posting: Such information is very often about placeholder. This also applies to information on Amazon, Gamesplanet or other shops that often list December 31, 2020 or other data that may have been communicated at any time.
Of course, October 16, 2020 would be quite possible, but we think it is very unlikely. Ubisoft is not silent for no reason, there are a lot of dates in 2020 in the river, so be careful with the information. The fact that Assassin's Creeds have appeared in October in the past does not change this. The last next-gen AC for the console launch was Assassin's Creed Unity – and that didn't come on the market until mid-November.
