It’s Thursday again and that means new free games in the Epic Games Store! This time with a mix of deck building and turn-based strategy.
Floppy Knights is the name of the latest free title and its logo features what younger generations in particular only know as a symbol for “save”: a floppy disk!
Although young Phoebe is a talented inventor, she otherwise has to deal with the normal problems of growing up. She would love to finally move out of home with her robot arm buddy Carlton and stand on her own two feet, but without money, nothing can be done. So Phoebe quickly invents the Floppy Knights, illusions that can be summoned from a floppy disk to do the work for her.
In terms of gameplay, it’s a mix of turn-based battles à la Advanced Wars with deck-building mechanics. Put together your best deck of cards for each job and then compete against your enemies in tactical battles.

Above all, the hand-drawn style of Marlowe Dobbe (Dicey Dungeons) and the driving retro music make Floppy Knights an indie title that is definitely worth giving a chance – especially if it doesn’t cost anything anyway.
