The Epic Games Store continues to offer one or more free games every week. In order to use them, you will have to overcome a small hurdle in the future.

Effective immediately and until May 21, two-factor authentication is required to access the free games. Nothing is wanted without it for the time being. Epic Games wants to use this to motivate players to improve their account security, not least because there are repeated hacker attacks on the stores.
If two-factor authentication (2FA) is not activated for your account, the following message is displayed when you try to claim a free game:
"Two-factor authentication (2FA) required
To use this free game, two-factor authentication (2FA) must be activated for your account. Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides additional protection for your Epic Games account and helps prevent unauthorized access. "
To activate two-factor authentication (2FA), go to the settings of your Epic Games account. With two-factor authentication (2FA), you protect your account against unauthorized access, since a security code must be entered when logging in.
