Fallout History – Part 1 – Fallout (1997)
The three Fallout games are available in a bundle. While the first two parts focus on role-playing, story and interactions with characters in the game world, Fallout Tactics is better known for turn-based combat.
Fallout 1 (1997)
As a survivor of a devastating nuclear war, you as a player must leave the safety of your bunker (Vault 13) to search for a vital spare part.
You explore a 2D isometric landscapemeet its inhabitants with different motives and needs and not everyone is positively disposed towards you.
The combat system is turn-based, and the character is individualized through attributes, talents and special characteristics. These are not only noticeable in the battles, but also in the possibilities for interaction with the game world and other characters.
Fallout 2 (1998)
There is a playful no major changes from the predecessor. The player character is a descendant of the protagonist from part 1.
You set out to recover a technology that can change life in the wasteland for the better. When you return, however, the Enclave has taken control of your home and is extremely brutal.
Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel (2001)
The turn-based tactical game was a little ahead of its time, but is a good address for fans of X-Com, for example.
Fallout Tactics relies more on the tactical combat system than on interactions with the game world and its characters, and lacks a quest or clear story structure, which causes the plot to suffer.
