Epic Store has announced they will be releasing more exclusive games within the next two years, even more than what has released so far.
Epic Store To Release Even More Exclusives in the Next 2 Years
The Epic Games Store has a number of games that will be exclusive to the platform, and according to the publisher will be even more in number than what has released so far.
In a recent article by PC Gamer
In the past two years, over 100 exclusive titles have been released, so that’s a lot of unannounced games to be getting exclusivity with Epic. Whether these will be timed exclusives, giving the platform anywhere between 6 months to 2 years as a deal, or total exclusivity on the PC platform is also unclear.
Currently, Ubisoft remains the developer that has most utilised Epic’s exclusivity but are not fully exclusive as they also release titles on their own Ubisoft Store platform.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is going to be exclusive to the platform but only until the end of its early access. Another is Chivarly 2, which is tied to a one-year exclusive with the platform, after which the developer can release their game elsewhere.
Currently the Epic Games Store has over 160 million PC customers, who have in no doubt been attracted to the platform not only for the exclusive games but also the platform’s attractive free games program. In their summary of 2020, Epic reports there being 103 free games on the platform, with over 749 million free games being claimed by Epic users. It also reports that it sold $265 million worth of third-party games, a 5.6 increase from the previous year. From this, we can expect more Epic exclusive games in the near future.
