Escape from Tarkov is a tactical multiplayer shooter that will generally make you fidget. It’s realistic, intense, and good fun for the masochistic (and sadistic) gamers among us. There’s nothing like real bloodshed when you’re rushing to an extraction point with your loot, only to lose it all to a camper at the last minute.
We’ve seen players fake death as a means of getting more kills and loot, in my own personal instance I’ve witnessed friends get ready to leave… only when they realize they’re carrying the wrong ammo died at the time, or did not actually load their guns.
Escape from Tarkov tests your patience, and with a new sprawling city map on the way, that’s not going to change anytime soon. At the time of writing, patch 0.13 for the game is currently being installed and will come with a wipe. However, the star of the show is the much-anticipated The streets of Tarkov map, which will place players in environments that are more urbanized than ever before.
The map is littered with destroyed buildings and vehicles, long open streets, and feels almost post-apocalyptic in terms of atmosphere. In my personal opinion, it looks like one of Tarkov’s cleanest maps to date, and it will be interesting to see how players battle on the huge, sprawling map.
However, that’s not all that’s included in patch 0.13. There are new light and heavy armor abilities to use, a bunch of new weapons and fancy attachments, and a host of new stimulants to keep your squad going. You can check out the full details on the Escape from Tarkov forum.
Plus, there’s a slew of bug fixes and tweaks, which, as might be expected from the title, are still in beta testing five years later. Who knows, maybe one day Tarkov will be fully released? Either way, there’s no better time than after wiping.
Will you be scouring the streets of Tarkov after this 0.13 patch?
