Over the past decade or so, we’ve seen Kirby take on many shapes and sizes, especially with the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Lands. In the latest mainline game, Kirby inhales and transforms into cars, traffic cones, and more. So it’s no surprise that Kirby Otamato exists.
Now, this particular instrument is weird in itself. You could even say it’s cursed when you bring Kirby into it. Kirby shouldn’t be prodded and squeezed to make weird noises, really, but we can’t deny that Kirby Otamatone still has some charm and whimsy.

Moshibass, a YouTuber and music teacher, apparently feels the same way. They describe themselves as someone who likes to create covers with weird and unique instruments, and Otamain is one of them.
In their latest video, they added Kirby Otamatone to their band and performed a cover of Evanence’s Bring Me To Life. Believe me when I say nothing can prepare you for this, and it’s surprisingly good. You can check it out by clicking the embed below, or watch it on YouTube here.
Admittedly, I didn’t expect to see this today, and I’m personally blown away by Moshibass’ otamatone abilities, something I never thought I’d say. I was even a little inspired to see what I could do with my own Kirby Otamatone, especially considering Moshibass covered Drowning Pool’s Bodies with a single Aggrestsuko Otamatone.
What do you think of these otamatone covers? Is Kirby Otamatone the stuff of nightmares, or did the talent on display make you forget about this cursed Kirby-themed instrument for a moment?
