Everspace 2 developer Rockfish Games unveiled the next chapter in the space shooter RPG’s story at Gamescom 2024. Titans is the game’s first paid add-on, and it brings something we’ve never seen in a game before.

The DLC expands the scope of Everspace 2 in some exciting new ways, offering a host of new experiences and will be available to purchase in September.

Titan consists of two story chapters: Dreadnought and Leviathan. In Dreadnought, you will join a group of Freelancers investigating rumors of a massive ship that is unlike any other in the game. This multi-stage boss fight will be extremely challenging and designed for players with a well-balanced ship loadout.

Leviathan takes Everspace 2 into the weirder side of science fiction. It will also have you tracking down a giant creature in the Khait Nebula, only this organic ship has more hidden under its belly than you might think. Gameplay for this storyline will focus on solving puzzles, disarming traps, and gathering resources rather than all-out combat.

Leviathan is designed for replayability, as the interiors of these giant creatures are procedurally generated, meaning they will be different every time you explore them.

Of course, there are also some new rewards that unlock after completing both fights. In fact, one of the main selling points of Titanfall is the new loot you can find and equip, which includes new item sets, catalysts, legendary items, and new consumables.

Titan will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 16 for $15 / $15 / £13. As for the future of Everspace 2, you’ll be happy to know that Rockfish is working on a second, larger expansion pack, which it aims to release sometime in 2025.
