Everyone stop what you’re doing: The first trailer for Paddington 3 is here

Paddington, Stop, trailer, youre

If you’re busy doing other things, I’m sorry, but you need to drop what you’re doing and watch the trailer for Paddington in Peru right now.

It’s no secret that Paddington is one of the best films ever made. Despite all the ideas for sequels, Paddington 2 has managed to be one of the best films ever made. If you think they’re flawed, you’re wrong, and maybe you should talk to someone. Now, a full seven years after the second film, we’re finally getting the third installment, Paddington in Peru. This time around, the jam sandwich-loving bear unsurprisingly joins the Brown family on a trip to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy, and the first trailer for the third sequel has been released.

Of course, Paddington’s story is never that simple, and when he arrives in Peru he discovers that his Aunt Lucy has gone on some sort of journey. So he sets off to find Aunt Lucy, and the Brown family once again embarks on a chaotic journey. While it’s exciting to see more of Paddington’s story, there are a few changes to note. Firstly, Paul King, the director of the first two films, is not returning to direct the third film, as he’s currently directing Wonka. He’s been replaced by Dougal Wilson, who is making his feature film directorial debut (although you may know him from his various music videos for Busted, like Year 3000 or Coldplay’s In Living Colour II).

You’ll also notice some changes to the cast – Emily Mortimer replaces Sally Hawkins as Mrs Brown (Hawkins said in a statement last year that “it’s time to hand the reins of the role to someone else”). The rest of the cast remains the same, with Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin all returning to their respective roles, and of course Imelda Staunton returning as Aunt Lucy and Ben Whishaw returning as Paddington. Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas have also joined the cast.

The only bad news is that you still have to wait a few more months for the release as the film is scheduled to hit theatres on November 8th.
