A modder is working on porting the assets and particularly fast action gameplay from Doom from 2016 and Doom Eternal to Serious Sam Fusion. Now there is a first demo of the mod called Serious Doom: Hell in Egypt.
Scope of mod
Danny S. has been working on the total conversion for two years. In addition to content, some features such as split screen and multiplayer are currently missing. The levels of Serious Sam remain untouched. Everything else, from weapons to monsters to gameplay, becomes doom.
- The first 5 levels are adjusted: There are now teleporters, jump pads, and more. You can also look like in Doom and brutally beat up your opponents.
- New weapons: In addition to a shoulder flame thrower and a chainsaw, there are also other weapons from Doom such as the Plasma Gun and the usual power-ups.
- Other opponents: The well-known opponents from Serious Sam give way to opponents like the Revenant from Doom.
- Hud as in Eternal: The user interface is also based on that from the latest shooter from id.
The mod's creator recommends that you play all other mods deactivated. Adjustments that rely heavily on scripts could cause bugs and other problems. Replacements of the graphics and the like are also not compatible with Serious Doom.

That will come in the future
After a few months' break, Danny S. and some volunteers want to fully commit to the project and more an extended full version of Serious Doom in 2020 publish. He does not yet give details of what this will contain. He only states that she "will do things that Serious Sam previously thought was impossible."
