Marvel Studios’ self-proclaimed Messiah is making his way from Deadpool and Wolverine to Marvel Snap as the battering ram for the biggest batch of new additions to the game since launch. Technically, the Merc with a Mouth card and its variants have been doing their thing since launch, but Second Dinner will unleash tons of new additions just in time to celebrate the Mutants’ entrance into the MCU. And, while we’re at it, introduce Gwenpoola new card capable of giving a twist to any game.
First things first: new Marvel Snap modes, features, and cards will begin arriving starting with the start of the season. Maximum effortwhich will start exactly at 9:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) on July 9thHowever, the big new features will be released in stages: the grand plan that Ben Brode and his team have in hand will be rolled out by adding events and new content until the end of August. Not bad at all.
At iGamesNews we have all the dates, all the cards and every new thing announced, and not only have we given you a comprehensive review of this new stage in a simple and comprehensive way, but, while we’re at it, we’re going to review what’s coming next season, including the next generation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
July 9: Maximum Effort Season
There is something that does not change in Marvel Snap: the season system and how around it up to five new cards are added to the game throughout the month. One of them -in this case Gwenpool– can only be obtained through the Battle Pass valued at 10.99 dollars, while the rest can be obtained by ascending the collection level, having a 25% chance of obtaining it (one in four, plus possible variants) with the key system.
To no one’s surprise, each and every one of the letters is related to the cinematic legacy that takes us to Deadpool and Wolverinealthough the real protagonist prefers a suit of other colors: Gwenpool bursts into her name adding some chaos to the game from the fourth turn, unless otherwise directed, although there will also be new variants created for the occasion for both her and Deadpool and Wolverine themselves.

Along with these new cards and variants coming to boxes and the in-game store, this season’s Pass rounds out its value by adding more content for Mutants fans, including movie-inspired card backs and a Colossus emote.
In any case, the date to get all these rewards and ascend through its 50 levels is between July 9 and August 6, 2024which can be obtained in level boxes weeks later or through the Collector’s Store through special credits. However, one of the most interesting changes is that a new mode will be added to obtain Cassandra Nova, the villain of the film Deadpool and Wolverinedoes not depend on luck but on our ability.
From July 23rd to August 6th: Deadpool Cafeteria
Halfway between an event and a game mode, Starting July 12th will open the Deadpool’s Cafeteria for a limited time. The general idea, in fact, is a mix between the Conquest system and the way of playing Ranked games. The best of both worlds? What is clear is that you won’t need to pay a cent to get your hands on rewards and one of the most promising cards of the season: Cassandra Nova.
How to play Deadpool’s Cafeteria? Technically, it’s a game where you bet Deadpool caps before you play. You start at Table 1 and are given a set amount for the first game, and as you win, you accumulate more until you move on to the next three tables where the cap bets are higher, but so are the rewards.
The aesthetics of this mode seem to have been drawn by Deadpool himself with markers, but the prizes are equivalent to those of a season pass, being able to obtain surprise cards, avatars, frames and even variants of the Cassandra card. The bad thing? It will only be available for two weeks: from the premiere of the film Deadpool and Wolverine until August 6th, the date on which the new season will begin. Marvel Snap.
July 30: Clans are now open in Marvel Snap
It took almost two years, but Clans are coming to Marvel Snap under the name of Alliances and with them a step forward for the social section of the game: starting on Tuesday, July 30, we will be able to create or join an Alliance (we already told you that we will have one in iGamesNews) and by solving challenges and tests more rewards will be unlocked in the game. However, we are not entirely sure what rewards we are talking about.
The idea behind Second Dinner is that Marvel Snap Alliances will be a springboard for creating new initiatives alongside other players, but also for facing new adversaries: Ben Brode has hinted that there will be competitions between alliances in the future.
We won’t deny it, the game’s non-existent social aspect compared to all other collectible card titles has been something that has been widely criticized, especially since its jump to PC. However, it remains to be seen what kind of activities are proposed, how it is possible to contribute to the alliance and what maximum capacity each one has.
August 8: The first Marvel Snap League, what it is and how it works
Believe it or not, the competitive in Marvel Snap Until now, it has been based on single matches tailored to our level of ranking as a player. Starting in August, a new step will be taken that will make each match more interesting and, in the process, reward the most consistent players: leagues. And yes, as you suspected, the first one will be centered on the character of Deadpool. So:
- From August 8 to August 10, the event will be held the Deadpool League
- From August 22 to August 24, the event will be held Jeff’s League
The leagues are resolved in just two or three days (depending on the time zone we’re in) but there’s a window of just under two weeks between the first two leagues, so expect to see a lot more activity during those periods. From there, the idea gets really interesting: each league is a limited-time event where 30 players with the same competitive rating are matched up.
Once the game has placed us in a group, with which we will share a league, we will not have to do anything else: by playing as we normally do we earn league points and obtain more rewards automatically. Where’s the fun? Basically, the best rewards will go to those who are at the top.
As for the prizes up for grabs, we know that all League participants will receive rewards, including Boosters, and that the top three players in each group of the first League will receive a Deadpool emote inspired by the Merc with a Mouth’s legendary pose. However, there are also variants and frames for the cards up for grabs. And if we’re also Twitch players, we’ll be able to give and receive more rewards.
Prizes and Drops Expected During Deadpool Season
Along with the previous announcements, and the new variants announced, Second Dinner has offered several key dates to keep in mind in which more activities and rewards will be added taking advantage of the premiere of the Marvel Studios film and, while we’re at it, welcome new players.
First of all, the same day the Season starts Maximum effort A special variant of Wolverine can be unlocked through Twitch Drops: by associating our Marvel Snap account with the platform and allowing live matches to be played, we will obtain rewards and a special commemorative card.
He July 26more or less coinciding with the release of the film Deadpool and Wolverinethere will be daily in-game rewards plus a welcome promotion where new and unique player accounts will receive variants and titles for completing tutorials. Additionally, there will be welcome packs and a special Domino card exclusive to those who get the Season Pass.

In addition to what has already been said, we know that the Deadpool’s Cafeteria will add an event called Conquerors of Marvel Snapwhich is expected to feature content creators. However, we have no dates or clues as to what will be at stake. However, we do know what will come after the Merc with a Mouth turns the Marvel Multiverse upside down.
August 2024, the Young Avengers season
The end of one season means the beginning of another, and in Marvel Snap this means new cards and content: August 6th the contents announced for Maximum Effort will conclude and the Deadpool Cafeteria will close, but The Young Avengers will take over from the terrible antihero.
To make an analogy, the Young Avengers are DC’s equivalent of the Teen Titans, in which the apprentices, protégés and even children of some of Earth’s mightiest heroes join forces with the promise of the future to combat exceptional threats. Which brings us to the other key question: do I know any of them?
In Marvel Snap There are already letters from several Young Avengers, starting with America Chavez, Patriot (not to be confused with the antagonist of The Boys) Miss Marvel herself, Scott Lang’s daughter known as Stature or Ant-Girl, and the hilarious Squirrel Girl. In one way or another, almost all of them have made their MCU debut, and the additions are assured as well: Kate Bishop (the new Hawkeye) we must add Billy and Tommy, the children of the Scarlet Witch who respond to the name of Wiccan y Fast.
A sneak peek into Marvel Studios’ future plans through the card game? We know that after the arrival of Deadpool and Wolverine Nothing is off the table for the MCU. But one thing is clear: Marvel’s Messiah not only aims to be the start of a new era for the great cinematic project from the house of ideas, but it will also give it the push and update that Marvel Snap players have been asking for for almost two years. It’s never too late if it also comes with chimichangas.
