The corona crisis has caused a number of shifts in the games industry. Now Evil Dead: The Game has also got it – but for a completely different, good reason.
Originally Evil Dead: The Game should have been released for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S in 2021, but developer Boss Team Games and publisher Saber Interactive have now officially confirmed a change of plan. Accordingly, the release is now unfortunately delayed until February 2022.
However, there is a good reason for this, because the makers do not only cite the classic reason. Although you want to use the additional time for additional fine-tuning and ensuring the “ultimate Evil Dead experience that you all are waiting for”, you can also look forward to a weighty new feature.
Thanks to the additional development time, the creators will now implement a single player option in Evil Dead: The Game; such was not initially planned.
The game was announced as a co-op and PvP multiplayer action game at The Game Awards in December 2020. Well-known characters from the Evil Dead franchise are part of the party. You have to fight against the forces of evil and defend yourself in a team consisting of four survivors. Playable characters include Ash, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, Scotty, Lord Arthur, Cheryl Williams, Henry the Red, and more. There are over 25 guns to choose from, including a chainsaw, for example.
