Evil Dead: The Game Just received a brand new mod, Splatter Royale, and it’s pretty much what you think it is.
As of the game’s latest update, the new mode is already playable on all platforms. In it, you can choose the Deadite version of any survivor and demon in the game, and just like in any battle royale, you have to try to be the last man standing. The mode features up to 40 players who face off against each other, attacking each other with whatever weapons you can collect.
You do have the option to collect loot as you explore the realm, or you can attempt to take down elite or boss NPCs through special events. Once you finish a round, you can level up in one of four Splatter Royale skill trees: Assassin, Butcher, Commando, or Marksman.
This update also brings some new DLC, the Immortal Powers Bundle. This new bundle includes a new survivor, Ruby Knowby, who originally appeared in Ash vs Evil Dead, with Lucy Lawless reprising her role. Ruby can regenerate her health for being the Dark One, increases her possession resistance, and provides a damage boost to her weapons. On top of that, she can “consume souls to make her aura more powerful and recharge her unique ability to unleash a deadly explosion that damages evil units within range and heals nearby survivors,” according to a press release.
The bundle also includes Kelly’s Unholy Scourge set, Pablo’s Fish and Chips set, Ash vs Reaper Party Animals set, and the Rime King set for the Puppet Demon class.
iGamesNews gave Evil Dead: The Game a 4/5 in its review, noting that it’s well timed, “but it does let itself down because players don’t have the basic accessibility settings available.”
