A good switch for a building contractor is good. But if it’s a home switch, it’s even better. We had the opportunity to hold the Asus Rog Strix Scope RX mechanical keyboard in our hands for several weeks, which thanks to the Made in Asus technology stands out from the classic version.

With a mechanical keyboard, the switch is the most important part and makes you slim or preferred for one product or another. Some players prefer a clean and loud punch, while others prefer a somewhat sluggish and smooth kick. We will insist on this, since the architecture of the keyboard remains very closely connected to the keyboard ASUS Rog Strix rifle scope TKL. This one is also quite compact with a size of 440 x 137 x 39 mm for a weight of 1.07 kg. We find the elegance of the classic model with a rather sober design made of aluminum, as ASUS has been offering in this product line for some time. RX Red: The top of the switch?

According to ASUS, this model with the RX Red switch has a lifespan of 100 million keystrokes. The activation point is 1.5 mm in contrast to the MX Red with 2 mm. The tip answer is clear, linear and without catching. An initial force of 40 g prevents accidental hits and goes up to 55 g for a perfect rebound return.

Immediate pleasure in use

In short, it is a real pleasure to use in office automation as it is in gaming. In an FPS for example, or even in a MOBA, which are often the most challenging types of games on the keyboard side, with a little bit of a guns’ experience it becomes it. For example, note the presence of a larger Ctrl key that makes the task of shooting games easier. Obviously, the RX model has full anti-ghosting, which makes it possible to use a maximum of buttons at the same time without worry. This is the essential technology for the players. Finally, the only thing missing is the presence of multimedia buttons like a sound wheel, which is very difficult without trying it.

A flawless one?

For the more manic (or who just want to have a flawless keyboard) the keyboard is IP56 certified and knows its resistance to dust and water protrusions. This doesn’t mean it can be cleaned with a lot of water in a sink, but you can safely clean the keys with damp disinfectant wipes. And it’s very anti-covid-friendly, preventing dirt from building up month after month. We can never repeat it enough, a clean keyboard is essential to function and play well.
